Phase 2: Required our team to analyse, synthesise and prepare a preliminary proposal of the development project. Phase 3: Required the team to produce design proposals based on the results of the preliminary analysis. Phase 4: Was a culmination of previous phases including a full financial feasibility appraisal and recommendations for the project. |
An investigation on the issues, impacts and management of noise associated with airports in metropolitan regionsThe task for this assessment was to produce a comprehensive literature review and analysis of specific case studies relevant to the topic. The topics of investigation, were up to the individual groups to decide and as a team we decided to take an approach to measure the issues, impacts and management of noise associated with airports in metropolitan regions. This study consisted of background research into how noise impacts the environment as well as humans. This was taken into account when looking at current management practices undertaken at both Brisbane and Sydney airports.

Planning Law Hypothetical Impact Statement
Our task was to assess a development application by Bigger is Better Pty Ltd as the Development Assessment planner for Growing Outwards City Council (Hypothetical). As the area had recently updated its planning scheme and this was used to assess the development. As the development was larger than the planning scheme had intended an application for a material change of use was applied and our response was to assess the development as an impact assessable development and apply planning legislation and frameworks to guide our decision to approve or decline the development. This was our first fray into Impact Assessable Development Assessment.
